In May 2022, we installed the first TweetyBot on a swallow tower that had been unoccupied since 2017. By June 2022, two pairs of swallows had already settled, and by June 2023, 17 nests were occupied. In 2023, with the help of the bird calls, two more swallow towers that had been unoccupied since 2006 were colonized, meaning that three towers are now occupied. The devices have also been successfully used in re-introduction efforts following building renovations. Based on these successes, additional TweetyBots were ordered in 2023, which are currently also being used at an interim roost for swifts and other towers. By 2025 at the latest, they are expected to be increasingly used in free-roosting areas for barn swallows.

Im Mai 2022 haben wir den ersten TweetyBot an einem seit 2017 unbesetzten Schwalbenturm installiert. Schon im Juni 2022 siedelten sich zwei Schwalbenpaare an, und im Juni 2023 waren 17 Nester besetzt. 2023 besiedelten mithilfe der Lockrufe zwei weitere seit 2006 unbesetzte Schwalbentürme, sodass nun drei Türme bewohnt werden. Die Geräte wurden auch bei der Wiederansiedlung nach Gebäudesanierungen erfolgreich eingesetzt. Aufgrund dieser Erfolge wurden 2023 weitere TweetyBots bestellt, die derzeit auch an einem Zwischenquartier für Mauersegler und anderen Türmen im Einsatz sind. Spätestens 2025 sollen sie vermehrt in Laufställen für Rauchschwalben genutzt werden.
